Yuko Koge
I am Yuko Koge...
My life is volleyball. I have been playing for 11 years. When it came time
to choose a highschool in Japan, I chose the best volleyball school even
though it is farther away. Last year we were number 3 in the state of
Kagoshima. I am now in my Junior year and captain of my team. We just
finished state championship and won 2nd.
In 2008 I came to America as an exchange student. I was so happy to be able to compete in American Volleyball. I was 16 years old and they placed me on the Varsity team of Reynoldsburg High School, where I started every game. I played libero and outside hitter. My coach recommended that I see what Club Volleyball was like. I was put on the 18+ team due to my skills. We won 1st place in my club. The coaches were so interested in me that they started my dream of playing on an American College team. I attended the College Showcase that winter and received letters of interest from 3
colleges.
I just recently came back for a visit to Ohio and attended the Volleyball
Showcase again. I am determined to do what it takes to play ball in an
American College.
